Mrs. Barbara White Tidwell, age 65, of Dadeville, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2020 at her residence. She was born on May 30, 1954 in Dadeville, Alabama to Durell White and Dorothy Huff White. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Barbara loved her family very much, especially her grandchildren and was happiest when they were all together. She enjoyed sewing and doing crafts. Barbara enjoyed the simple things in life. She loved sitting on her back porch, reading and planting flowers.
She is survived by her daughters, Farrah Meadors (Shane) of Dadeville and Ashley Payne (Michael) of Auburn; grandchildren, Jalyn Grace Meadors (Preston Dasher) and Brody Garrett Meadors; sister, Susan Turner (Barry) of Alexander City; brothers, Bobby White of Birmingham and Ronnie White of Alexander City; nephew, Brandon Turner (Amber), Garrett White and Hunter Baker; nieces, Sela White and Ana White; great-nephew, Levi Turner; and great-niece, Adalynn Turner.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband of 20 years, Willie Tidwell.
A private service will be held for the family.

Mr. Willie Tidwell, age 61, of Dadeville, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2020 at his residence. He was born on December 19, 1958 in Red Level, Alabama to William Wesley Tidwell and Cassie Joe Dubose Tidwell. Willie was a hard working man, with a heart of gold that could fix anything. He was an avid Alabama fan and he loved fishing, camping and anything Elvis. Willie’s family was his world and he loved his grandchildren immensely.
He is survived by his daughters, Farrah Meadors (Shane) of Dadeville and Ashley Payne (Michael) of Auburn; grandchildren, Jalyn Grace Meadors (Preston Dasher) and Brody Garrett Meadors; sisters, Teresa Stanford of Hueytown and Barbara Smith of Calera; brothers, Billy Tidwell of Montgomery and James Tidwell (Iris) of Montgomery; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Montgomery man fatally stabbed
MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) – A man was fatally stabbed and now Montgomery police are investigating his death as a homicide.
According to Capt. Regina Duckett, officers, and medics went to the 2600 block of Endicott Drive shortly after midnight for a possible stabbing. At the scene, officers found George Tucker, 41, who had been stabbed.
Tucker was transported to Baptist Medical Center South where he was pronounced dead, Duckett said.
An investigation shows the stabbing happened during an argument over a woman. No arrests have been made at this time.

Dadeville police chief: husband, wife found shot dead inside home
DADEVILLE, Ala. (WSFA) – The Dadeville Police Department is investigating an overnight double homicide, Police Chief Jonathan Floyd confirmed.
Floyd says officers received a call between 7 and 8 p.m. about two deceased people. When police arrived to the scene, Floyd says they found two people dead due to apparent gunshot wounds inside a home within the 200 block of North Barrett Street.
Floyd has identified the two as husband Willie Tidwell, 61 and wife Barbara Tidwell, 65.
Earlier Saturday, Dadeville Mayor Wayne Smith confirmed to WSFA 12 News he knew the victims in the incident.
Floyd says anyone with information is asked to call Dadeville police. Floyd also confirmed Dadeville PD is also working with Birmingham and Auburn police as well.

Georgia man suspected of killing four in 100-mile crime rampage
A Georgia man is suspected of killing four people during a 100-mile, 36-hour crime spree across Alabama, according to reports.
The spree began early Friday, when police believe Derrick Lee Hightower, 32, fatally shot Nancy Nash, 54, in Auburn, possibly because she interrupted a burglary, WVTM reported. Her body was found later that day in Auburn, near a burning truck.
Hightower then allegedly gunned down a couple in Dadeville after a possible robbery at their home. Police have identified the pair as Willie Tidwell, 61, and his 65-year-old wife, Barbara. Formal charges have yet to be filed against him in connection with that incident.
Hightower’s alleged rash of crimes continued in Birmingham, where police say he gunned down Antione Harris, 36, early Saturday during a home invasion, AL.com reports.
Hightower, who was shot in the arm during an exchange of gunfire with cops before he was arrested Saturday afternoon in Birmingham, is also suspected of robbing three people a day earlier at an urgent care office in Chelsea, WVTM reports.
“We are very thankful that this individual has been arrested and is no longer a danger to everyone,” Shelby County Sheriff John Samaniego told the station.
Kentrice Symonee Hill, 21, of Birmingham, was also charged with capital murder in Nash’s death. Her relationship to Hightower is unclear, as is the motive for the man’s alleged 36-hour rampage that spanned roughly 100 miles along US 280, AL.com reports.
“All of these families have been impacted,” Assistant Auburn Police Chief Clarence Stewart told the website. “What possibly has he gone through in his life to lead to this? I believe we are products of our environment and it makes me wonder what brought him to this point.”
